Hi, I'm Dyshni
Hi, I'm Dyshni
I am a Trauma Therapist in Toronto supporting women of color, daughters of immigrants, and mothers who feel the heavy weight of family trauma, relentless cultural expectations, and living in constant survival mode.
I know this journey intimately. I grew up as the eldest daughter of immigrants, raised in a dysfunctional and chaotic home, often carrying that weight, silencing my own pain to hold everyone else together. I became the “fixer,” mastering the art of looking strong—overworking, overachieving, and people-pleasing—while inside, I was deeply exhausted and unseen.
For years, I was stuck in autopilot, doing what had to be done. Perhaps you’re there too, living in survival mode without even realizing it, yet hearing that quiet whisper for something more: rest, joy, and a life that truly feels your own.

My Healing, Your Freedom
My true shift began after I became a mother. In the raw, tender moments of postpartum, I turned toward somatic therapy, trauma healing and nature. I learned how to move out of my head and into my body, finally finding the capacity to soften, rest, and feel safe. This was the pivot: choosing presence over performance, and self-compassion over survival.

The Work We Do Together
I walk alongside the woman who carries heavy histories, family trauma, and cultural pressures, but longs to feel safe, seen, and deeply understood.
We blend trauma-informed Western modalities with Eastern wisdom and crucial cultural awareness. Together, we gently explore the roots of your story—from early attachments and cultural beliefs—supporting your nervous system to find stability and your heart to rediscover joy.
For Tamil-speaking clients, I also offer therapy in Tamil, creating a vital space to speak openly about identity and the parts of your story that can feel too heavy or taboo elsewhere.
You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore. Healing doesn't have to feel heavy. I see you. I hear you. Let's make space for the life you deserve.

What transformation can look like

What transformation can look like
From Restless to Rested
(Is it hard to shut your mind off or rest without feeling guilty or behind?)
Learn how to slow your mind and body so rest actually feels nourishing instead of uncomfortable or guilty. You’ll discover the kind of rest your nervous system responds to—rest that restores, not just pauses.
From Overwhelmed to Regulated
(Do your emotions take over quickly, leaving you flooded, shut down, or on edge?)
You’ll build emotional regulation skills that help you stay grounded, present, and calm—even when life gets loud. No more feeling hijacked by stress, shutdown, or big emotions.
From Carrying Everything to Being Supported
(Are you exhausted from being the strong one who handles everything and never gets to fall apart?)
Release the pressure of being the strong one who holds everyone together. You’ll learn how to share your emotional load, ask for help, and feel supported instead of stretched thin.
